Can anyone answer a question about antler growth? There were some pretty decent brow tines and G2's on those bulls. Are they done growing now and all the new growth going to the G3, G4, etc, or will the G1's and G2's continue to grow.

Nice job Pete.

I was up on my LE bow bull unit over this past wknd and a couple of the bulls had velvet 4th's branching up......

Many in the velvet 3rd's of course.

Should be a good year!

Thanks for sharing........

The G-1's and 2's will grow a little more until the tip is pointy. Then the rack will continue to grow on through the 3's 4's and so on till the main beam is done.

I've seen a couple of big bulls this week that look like the 1's are finishing, but the 2's still have a "bulb" on the end of the antler tip. That means they will still grow more. These two bulls are forking at the sword tines and starting back with the main beam.

Good Luck. Go up high on the mountain and glass dwonward. If you are shed hunting try east of the mountain out in the canyons areas. Black mesa has some good spot to.
