Montana alternates list...odd?

My dad and I just put in on the Montana alternates list for the Big game combo license. Has anyone tried this before and how successful were you in getting a tag? They established an order to get on the list and my dad is 93 and I'm 383 on the list. I guess I don't know if I should be excited about having this position on the list or if we're too high to get a license. Any info would be appreciated.

Last year I had #93 on Montana's alternate list, I received a tag about the end Aug. With a number of 383 might want to plan on late in the seasons. They did have 8 leftover tags the Friday before the end of general hunting season 05 the last week they were selling them over-the-counter. Good Luck

I screwed mine up, i put landowner tag instead of the general deer season, i would of been about 18 on the list if i would of hit the corret button. im 10 on the landowner list. I was trying to go to fast.

No joking here guys... I am #1 on the list, my father is #19... I just have one question... we applied for the landowner sponsored tags... is my father #19 in the landowner sponsored category, or is he #19 including all categories of tags? (outfitter, landowner, general)

I recently left Montana and will no longer be a resident. Can somebody fill me in on the "alternates?" Where/when do you sign up? Is it for the combo only or for deer only or what? It is obviously not a big secret, but maybe somebody could point me in the right direction.

It is on the website and comes on line after the draw. You can still put yourself on the list, however you will be a high number. My father was 260 on the deer list and he got a tag a week before thanksgiving, which was when I was going hunting.

And to the question above, I think you are just ranked on the list that you are on, not all of them.
