looks like many people down scored this bull. I thought this might be a good one for the fact that the Utah average bull now is just what your seeing. Most people come home with that 300-320 bull off of there limited entry hunt. So, would you have shot this bull with your 14+ years invested?

With guess number 118 frkybugleboy guessed it head on

The official Score of this bull was 308 3/8. congrats and check your PM frkybugleboy

Fun contest Curtis. Thanks. He's about 10 inches bigger than I guessed. Its interesting that when people draw a great tag they dream of that 350 - 370 bull- especially because all the pictures they see show bulls of that caliber. Howver if you averaged ALL of the bulls killed in those LE and tough draw units in all of the western states they'd be in that 300 - 320 range as you said. Still a real pretty bull though !

Thanks for the fun contest. Would you mind posting the numbers, so we can get a better idea.

Thanks,
HK

yeah that bull must be a bit bigger than he looks. Kinda hard to judge when you don't have anything else in the phot for perspective.

Good points. From now on I will post the actual numbers from score sheet. I will also have a deer or another animal next to them to give perspective of size. Anything else? Fire away if you have suggestions. I will try and get better quality photos too. My old camera just ain't cuttin it.

must be a big bodied bull i was way way way off haha! im shocked that bull is over 300. maybe throw a soda can in the pic for comparisons like on the head or something so we can get an idea of how big it actually is. anyway thanks for all these contests they sure have been fun!

Yeah, disappointed I was almost 30" off the mark (too low).

I'll be bowhunting elk in the Book Cliffs roaded area this fall and have never taken a bull over 300". Biggest I have to compare to is a mid-260's 5X6. The photo didn't look alot bigger. Had six on both sides, so I bumped my guess up to 280".

Not sure where I mis-judged....but I'm thinking the brows are alot of the difference? Mass could be a culprit too?

Expectations may be too high?..as first glance told me to pass a bull of this calibur....at least until late in the hunt.

Thanks Curtis,

Not bad for my first guess the score contest. Anyone hiring a field judge? BTO or Moose knuckles?

Did someone shoot that bull with a 308? That was the first thing that came to mind.
