Can someone suggest a quality drop camp - that can offer atleast 60 percent opportunity, or 30 plus percent success - for Colorado? Archery or OTC rifle - preferably archery.
30% success is a lot higher than you usually see on Colorado over the counter units on public land. Elk hunting success is usually about 25% for bull and cow and 15% to 20% for bulls only.
You should look at Rocky Mountain Ranches that advertises on this site. They have private land trespass fees and will include a trailer to stay in. They're a little more expensive than public land hunts but they advertise close to 50% success.
Check into Wildhorse outfitters. They are licensed/bonded and guide in unit 81. Ronnie landers and his dad have a couple of camps they run. They are fixing to start the fishing season and I know they scout alot during that time as well. I know they always run into elk. They do both archery and rifle fully guided/semi and drop camps. My recommendation is do the archery. Less people during archery.

Be sure to check out Winterhawk Outfitters as well (www.winterhawk.com). They have a great reputation for getting hunters into great elk areas in Colorado.
Another vote for Winterhawk Outfitters! For a wilderness archery hunt (or rifle), it doesn't get any better. It's beautiful country, fantastic hunting and they really take care of you. Their camps are great.
