With a LE bull tag in hand it seems as though it is worse waiting for the hunt to get here than the anticipation to see if I drew a tag, the season cant get here fast enough, I havent started scouting yet and probably wont start until July. I have been shooting about 36 shots a day with my new Hoyt Maxxis bow, and have been for 3 weeks now. I need to get out and start working on my stalking techniques, it seems as though I am like an elephant when it comes to stalking I cant get into range during the archery deer so hopefully I can work on my stealth and do better with elk. I Anyhow I am full of anxiety, nothing to do but dream of the big bull and hoping to get lucky.

Work on your calling and make him sneak in on you!

You find out who your friends are when you see who shows up to help pack your bull out!

It's like Christmas all over again...

Each year bout this time, it seems the next few months couldn't come fast enough. For the time is nigh when we shall return to the hills and pursue trophy animals in some beautiful country. Best of luck to you and we'll look forward to the pictures and the story.

Without Bow try your sneeking all summer long on animals it might cut some yardage off, and your will see your mistakes. I think you're just moving to fast the hardest thing to do is to slow down IMO.

Thanks guys,

Richardjb, I drew the lasal archery tag

Gator you are right about slowing down, I am impatient sometimes, but I plan on using your advice, I was going to go practice on critters each time I am out in the hill whether it be a doe, cow, buck or bull I was going to practice my sneak, but of course not in the area I plan on hunting...I will go up here on the blues and put the sneak on snake bull a few times...lol...

Yep you will have to change your name to Big Bull or One Monster Bull down.
If you stop by Shirttail tell my son Hi for me.

Hey cantkillathing,

I grew up on the La Sals and know of a couple great bulls if you are interested in a few starting spots shoot me a pm and we can talk.

I just got my CO Unit 76 1st Rifle season license in the mail. My anticipation had just waned to...oh... inferno status when I get the license and through the roof it goes again. Why does the calendar go so slow?

The planning starts the day you put in hoping you drew a tag.
