So has anyone hunted these hills much? I've done a bit of scouting found a lot of elk but haven't seen that many deer. Anyone ever seen much on this MTN?

It depends on where you go. If you hike up some of the closed roads on snowbowl road you can get into some deer. If you stay around the base on the main forest access roads, you will not see hardly anything, except people. Hiking up towards the mountain from the road on the backside is also good. Just go slow and look around a lot. Most people drive around the roads and a few will hike but not very far. Are you going archery or rifle? I've seen some pretty decent bucks up there. Because it is so close to town it does get a lot of pressure on the weekends.

I was considering going up archery hunting, I haven't even looked at the draw odds for rifle. I figured with the steepness of the terrain if I hiked way up into the high country I wouldn't run into that many people.

You probably wouldn't have any problems running into other hunters. You might see a few hikers though.

Up around the Heart Prarie area there seems to be more deer than other places, The Shultz pass side up 89 on the way to Page holds some deer as well

What I did last year was I went to the ski resort parking lot and started hiking up from there. It seems like great country, but I just haven't run into a ton of deer. Not a big deal as long as there are a few monsters. I don't like the idea of running into a bunch of granola hikers while I'm hunting though.

You're not going to run into a ton of deer. However, there are deer up there. Some good ones too. Just do some scouting and glassing where you can. If you're persistent, you'll find one. If you can, go during the week when all the granola's are in town smoking pot and saving the earth!!!
