I just found out that I drew a second season rifle tag for this unit. Just wanted to see if anyone has any information or tips for this area. Any info is appreciated.

Been 5 years since I've deer hunted that unit. Way more elk than deer in that unit. I hunted north of 64 primarily. Not great terrain for spot and stalk so you may need to work hard covering territory to find fresh elk sign and then sit an area. I'm not an elk expert. 2nd season rifle is tough in that they won't be bugling. I have applied for archery season in 49 though so I like the unit. Maybe snow will make it easier for you. Not sure of your dates though. Good luck. Wish I could be more help but on my deer hunt, I was consumed with trying to find deer and not the elk I kept bumping.
