Well what can I say. This is our first contest where the exact score was not guessed. We had guesses from the 290's to the 380's. I really don't know what to say other than I guess this bull tricked a lot more people than just me. When he came into the shop I guessed this bulll to be in the 325-330 range. like i said I was off. I thought this bull had it all, good mass, length and a good beam to make a nice 330 bull. Well deceptive he is.

The official Score of this bull is 308 6/8 gross.

Here are the numbers you need.

Right side
main beam 45 7/8
g1 14 2/8
g2 13 2/8
g3 14
g4 14 5/8
g5 9

m1 8 3/8
m2 7 1/8
m3 5 5/8
m4 5 2/8

Left Side
Main Beam 43 7/8
g1 14 7/8
g2 12 4/8
g3 14 5/8
g4 16 1/8
g5 12 3/8

m1 7 6/8
m2 6 4/8
m3 6
m4 5 3/8

So what you're saying is:
There was a 31-3/8" inside spread?

I love not acting my age,
Damn I love my NASCAR race,
And Hell yes I love my Truck!

Am I missing something? It says the exact score was not guessed and the winner guessed 308 6/8 and the official score was 308 6/8????? Anyway, congrats to the winner!

Sorry couple mistakes. Official was 308 5/8. Winner guessed 308 6/8. Probably what i was thinking when i typed it twice. Yes I want to say the inside spread was 30 3/8 but I don't have the sheet in front of me. When I get back home I can check. Sorry forgot to add that. Anyway thanks for playing and hopefully your scoring egos are not damaged to bad.

Well I was 28 off on the high side, (guessed an even 336) and then got to looking at him some more and talked myself into him maybe being a little better than that, I guess the 1sts and 3rds aren't what the were totally cracked up to be by my second estimation. Needless to say this is about one of the prettiest 308 bulls you will ever seem and I would be happy to have him on the wall. Now looking back in comparison to that buck, it makes a lot more sense.

I was going to guess 310 - 315 but then second guessed based myself on you saying you were 20" off so I added the 20" to get to my 334 6/8" guess.

I hope everyone is having fun with these contest. In all reality it is very tough from a picture to score animals. So kudos for playing. I know there still are some members holding back. Please play!!!!!! That is why I am really against looking at magazines and trying to score an animal. The pictures are so deceptive. The pictures make these animals look so big now days that when we go hunting if we don't see that image in our head we think we are not shooting a trophy, in reality it may be a great scoring animal. JMO!!! Anyway thanks for playing, I really enjoy messing with your heads a little bit!!!!!

P.S. If you live close by and want to put one of your animals in the contest, stop by and we will get her done.

I'm having a blast with the contests. Appreciate the effort.

First glance, I had that bull between 310"-320". You said it fooled you by about 20"....so I actually dropped slightly below 300" for my guess. Rack just looked entirely too compact to go 20" the other direction.

+1 wapitibob! I added an extra 20 to mine this time for kicks n grins! But love the contests!

I just call em as I see em!

Missed by 1 5/8"! Next time I'll sharpen my pencil.

Congrats to the winner!

LAST EDITED ON Jun-20-10 AT 09:55PM (MST)[p]I'm not very good at scoring but a cpl years ago I was in the local archery shop and looked over a friends Bull. It was a great looking 6x6 and scored 305. That was a real eye opener for me. A lot of people, me included don't realize just how much antler you need to hit 300".
Middle finger to thumb for me is 9 1/2". That makes a 20" 4th point pretty damn long.

I think it would help if #1 the pictures were farther away from the animal so we can get a better look. Any time you take upclose shots its hard to judge and looks bigger. and #2 I think alot of scores added 20-30 inches because of the way you made it sound. and that influinced alot of scores. I know it did mine. either way its fun to guess
