I guess since these are circulating the net, they are ok to post now(I didn't take them). They may have already been on here. What do you guys think of this bull? I think he falls short of Spidey, but then again 99.999999999999% do. I wonder how close he is though???

Looks like spidey's little brother is almost ready to be let out of the pin for the highest bidder to hunt him on One of our LE units with mossy....

LAST EDITED ON Jul-15-10 AT 04:14PM (MST)[p]In fact I'm not even sure high fenced outfits are allowed here in Washington.

by the way, I've never seen an 8 foot post be as tall as the second tier of a powerline. lol

This bull as well as the big typical he runs with are both on federally owned land.

Now that we have that straight, can we get back to the reason of this post, and someone tell me how you think he compares to Spidey. (Thanks SW). I didn't post this to debate high fenced hunting as I DESPISE it.

Are there any good pictures showing that lower main beam looking thing on the left side? Where does it branch off at? I think 450-470. If those were taken this year does he still have some more growing to do?

I would say they are done as far as tine length. None of their points are balled up. They may put on a little more mass.

If you want to see these bulls up close, they are off highway 395 south of Bishop California and have many other friends with them.........just sayin ;-)
That's the word i got anyway........cool bulls though none the less!!

My understanding is this bull is located on the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in southeast Washington which is and has been off-limits to hunting for many years.

Possible choices

1- Octopus Bull

2- Tarantula Bull

3- Einsten Bull

4- Big Pisscutter

5- Old Pisscutter

I'm sure theres more.

WOW what nice bulls. Hope they both are still breeding cows.

You maybe just sayin Slamdunk, but your sayin a couple states off. He is called "The Bull"

Those are definately not south of Bishop. That would make them Tule bulls. And both those bulls are probably 50"+ bigger than the biggest Tule bulls.

These are Hanford Bulls despite what any forwarded email may say. They have been posting pictures of these bulls on Ifish.net for years.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-10 AT 06:36AM (MST)[p]Well like i said, none the less of where these bulls are living, they are pretty impressive pen raised or not......i love seeing big bulls and the quality of the pics are equally impressive.
Their current location doesn't always dictate their native origin ;-)

as you'll notice, the pictures show two different years of "the bull"

The last picture is this year, he gained some extras on his right but lost some on his left. The pictures were taken on land that cannot be hunted but this bull can and sometimes does travel to areas that are hunted heavily. Obviously he spends most of his time on the protected stuff fat and happy.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-10 AT 12:21PM (MST)[p]His name is Melvin Junior. In 1996 Melvin Sr. died and is now displayed in the CRHEST Museum in Richland, WA. The Hanford Site (also known as Hanford Nuclear Reservation) is a 586 square mile piece of ground near Richland, WA. It is the location where the plutonium for the first atomic bombs was produced. The area itself is closed to hunting. The perimeter fence is very low, and the elk are free to come and go at will.

Life is like riding bulls. You're never truly ready ..... it just gets to be your turn.

Nothing one of those chute planes couldn't fix, course when the Apache helo shows up to blow you out of the sky. heheheheheeee

LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-10 AT 04:27PM (MST)[p]By the way, Melvin Sr. was probably the one showing up on ifish for several years, not this fella until of recent times anyway.

Melvin Sr. lived for like 22 years or so before he died of Natural causes, most speculate he was gored in the side by no other than Melvin Jr. or "The Bull"

Would love to seen SR and JR Best years pictures side by side They would be a pair.

Forget his score, how much is he worth. Boone and Crocket are outdated, here in Utah we judge all animals by how much would someone pay to shoot it. If it aint a 100k bull it aint nothing!!!

This sunset picture is one of the coolest I have seen...
This is an extraordinary bull, I think that standing next to Ol' Spidey, Melvin here would be the one in trouble. He looks much larger and more impressive, but I don't think he's a 500" bull... I put him at 494 3/8"... LOL
