NICE looking mount, your buddy got that back pretty fast...who is the taxidermist?

So, since this hunt wasn't offerred this year what did ya put in for? I put in for the unit 52 hunt (one hunt this year, not an early & late).

Thanks for posting. That is a hell of a buck!

The taxidermist is Chad Clark of Albion. I highly and I do mean highly recommend him. I just took my horns to him yesterday, hopefully should get my buck back in a month or so. This mount is his competition mount for shows. It got a third place so far. It is sweet, the pictures are awesome, but you'd have to see this buck in person. Anyways, I put in for the regular rifle hunt, in the same unit again. I'll be going spotting pretty soon, i'm excited with all the bucks that we seen last years as to the potentional this year. Keep me posted on if you draw or not.

Freaking AMAZING!

What's up with the scibbled out pic. I mean c'mon can't be any worse looking than me:)

Nice mount and SWEET BUCK!

Great buck and great mount. I like the mount particularly due to it's realistic ears. Many taxis place the ears in un realistic positions. Most of them look cool, but they are not realistic. Next time you get a chance to watch a buck for any lengh of time watch his hears, they seldom ever look like most mounts. This mount is more true to life, IMHO, and that I like!

Nice job. . . .

"Roadless areas, in general, represent some of the best fish and wildlife habitat on public lands. The bad news is that there is nothing positive about a road where fish and wildlife habitat are concerned -- absolutely nothing." (B&C Professor, Jack Ward Thomas, Fair Chase, Fall 2005, p.10).

There's nothing like looking at a buck on the wall to bring back memories of the great times we all have when we're out there. Congrats on a beutiful buck, and a beautiful mount.

Beautiful buck, beautiful mount. Did the taxi use the original cape? The Bucks face looks whiter and his ear tips look blacker in the harvest photo. Just curious, congrats on the great buck and mount.

No its not the orginal cape. If you notice on the front shoulder in the picture of the buck on the ground. There is kinda a bald spot. There was huge balls of ticks on that deer. The hair had disappeared quite abit. So they purchased a cape from a guy in Canada.

Awesome mount! Do you know where your taxi got the pedestal? I am doing a pedestal mount on my ram and I really the way that pedestal looks. Thanks Ryan

I see only one problem with this awsome mount. Some kid is going to come blasting through the door.Hope you have moved it already...

Ryan-

The guy that killed that deer built the pedistal. His dad had a bunch of old barn wood. He did all the pedistal work, except for the rock on there. The taxi did that. But ya he built the pedistal himself. As far as the door goes. That door leads to another room right next to his head room. Its like a gun room and reloading room. It isn't very big and the stain that he used in the room is pretty strong. So you wouldn't wanna keep the door closed if you were in there. But good point about a kid blasting through there.

That's a great looking mount and pedistal. It brings up a question. I am having my elk done on a pedistal and looking for ways to fill the back in. I noticed on this deer he wrapped the cape around the back. Does anyone have anything different, like a picture or something that fills in the back on their pedistal mounts?

Thanks one shot. I was hoping you knew someone that made them for a living oh well I will keeping looking. If anyone else knows anyone that builds pedestals shoot me a pm. Ryan
