so im getting ready to have one i my grandfathers old elk racks stained and get a plaque made so we can hang in the cabin...i decided to put a tape to it and this is what im coming up with. i am by no means an expert. here are the numbers.

main beams l = 42 6/8 r = 42 2/8
outside spread 37 5/8
inside spread 36 7/8
tip to tip 33 4/8

poinst l r
g1 14 5/8 15
g2 13 6/8 13 4/8
g3 11 2/8 11 2/8
g4 13 3/8 13 3/8
g5 7 1/8 7 6/8

mass l r
h1 7 3/8 7 7/8
h2 6 4/8 6 6/8
h3 7 4/8 8
h4 5 6/8 5 7/8

i come up with 299 2/8 gross and 2 5/8 of deductions (so 296 5/8 net?)
the b&c wepage says final score of 295 3/8 and 3 1/8 of deductions (so 298 4/8 gross?)

i know im close, but cant figure why im off? unless my addition skills have failed me, or im just doing it wrong.

its not a bruiser by any means, but will look good on the wall.

And Hell yes I love my Truck!

From your numbers above, I come up with 298 4/8 and 3 1/8 deductions. It looks like you used the outside spread for your spread credit and that's why you got a little higher gross score. You need to use the inside spread of the main beam as your spread credit.
As far as deductions, it looks like you totalled up the left and the right sides and took the total difference as your deductions. This could be a different number than taking the difference between the individual measurements. If you take the differences between each measurement and then total those up, you should get 3 1/8 inches.
I think you math is right, just a little wrong on the method.
