The taxidermist did a great job, I hope to draw a bull elk tag soon before all the big bulls are slaughtered, so I can have a good elk mount-wishful thinking...

Congrats on a great buck and a very handsome mount. Good luck on that bull tag. I know the feeling.

Great looking mount and that is such a lovely wall color too.

Dont cut the wall colot, I have already given my wife enough crap about it. The mount location might only be temperarily, wife isn't as excited abouit it as I am, probably will end up spare bedroom somewhere.

Congratulations. Thats a great looking buck and a very nice mount. I like the way the backs have the double fork.

Great buck. You'd better change your MM name to "gotastudlybuck." And the wall color is fine with me.

Great buck!

Where did you get 'em?

Who cares about the wall when you got a awesome buck like that on it?

nice buck and mount.

hmmm, your buck and my buck from a couple seasons ago sure have a similar antler configuration.

do you have any field pics of yours? if so, please post them.

Thanks for all the comments, several people are asking about field pictures, I shot the buck just at light, looked in the pack for a camera and I did not have my camera, My Father in Law found a disposable camera and snapped some shots, I got the pictures developed and they were a mess, the disposable camera made the pictures look like it was night time, and they were so out of focus. So a long story short is yes I got pictures but they suck.

I got the buck on the Elk Ridge Unit in Utah, crappy unit, just got lucky.

Wow....that is a great lookin' buck! Taxi did a great job.

berto, your right, it sure does look a lot like yours! Do you have any head on shots of yours, mounted or in the field?

muleyslyr,

i also took this field pic after my buck hit the ground in 2003

then the next day we took a pic of our three bucks together, which gives the best head-on pic i have of my buck. please excuse the terrible photo quality.

the winter following the season in the picture was extreme and alot of the bucks in this area winterkilled. i was glad i made it there before that happened, altho the area should have recovered by now, i have not been back since 2003.
