Elk Stategy?

What the best strategy for hunting 2nd season elk? I have hunted archery and 1st rifle seasons and they r usually pretty vocal but quickly fading towards the end of the early rifle. Can i expect any bugling during 2nd rifle if they haven't been disturbed much? Isnt there a later rut sometimes where the bulls may still be with their cows?

There is a second estrus cycle latter in Oct. than can get them talking again. I deer hunt my same elk holes in the end of Oct. and alway hearing them bugling. On the Manti's where I go, a fair amount of them will move from upper elevations down to the cedar hills but not all of them. First part of Nov. I think you will be heavily relying on what the weather will be doing as far as where they might be.
