looking at septembers extended weather forecast they are calling for a very hot september temperture. wich means the elk will not be rutting during the bowhunt's this year or during the rifle.only until the late part of september. during my muzzy hunt.before anyone post to prove a point this was some what of a joke.some of you will say the rut has nothing to do with weather and i know the weather forecast is to far away to determine. for me to believe anyway.but this is how twisted my upcoming limited entry hunt has me i am about to go nuts.good luck to all

really though they are calling for a very warm september

Dont sweat it man. Adapt and overcome. That is a phrase we use a lot at work. The bulls will still be rutting and the cows will still be getting bred. Be prepared to break your elk down quickly and the meat will be fine.

Good luck to you man! I have a LE archery tag myself. With season dates a little later and great bulls on every unit in the state, I predict a great hunt for all!

Hang in there. The days cant pass fast enough for me either! Lets get this show on the road!!!

Ha Ha!! I am with ya my blood brother, uncle Ted would be proud! Best of luck to everyone but I need to wish us LE muzzle elk hunters even better luck though since we have last picks on the big stinkies. But I have to give it to ya, I am tottaly pumped with nothing but my hunt on my mind and haven't even had the thought of checking the extended weather forecast! What tag do ya' have?

i have the wasatch tag. some of the bulls i have been seeing are haunting me. i know i have to calm down before the actual hunt but it can not come soon enough

Book Cliffs BC/South archery tag here.

Be solo on this trip coming from Indiana. Never hunted high desert before, so the temps do have me concerned about getting a bull out quick enough.

Lots of roads in the unit and I'm hauling a 4-wheeler....so hopefully can get close should I be fortunate enough to get a bull down.

Heat or not, from the feedbackI received, there aren't many places I'd rather be!

packing dry ice in your coolers put paper on the bottom then a layer of dry ice then paper then ice ECT., it will help cool down the meat faster then just ice. We have had dry ice last 5 days by sealing the cooler tops with duct tape and covering it with a sleeping bags. Works great for those hot hunts.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

Thats a great tip Gator. I may need to try that for this years deer hunt. Good luck to those with tags.
