I stole a trail cam

yep, honest to go I stole a trail cam. and i feel good about it.

i was on an oil well last year takin a crap on the edge of location when i noticed a hidden trail cam set right next to me. i originally left it alone but then i got to thinkin. who would set up a cam to watch the meter run and loading docks on an oil well? i called the pumper and aske the guy in charge of the whole show and he said noone had a camera out. well that means it wasnt to orevent theft. beings it was april i figured i better have a look at the memory card. well there was no wildlife on it. just the times people where on location and who. in addition it had only been there two weeks. im pretty sure a thief put that camera there since theres so much oilfield theft. i quickly removed that camera and let the producer know i had done so incase an innocent party came forward. i told the producer to start lloking for these on their wells and that was that. i still have that camera under my bed to this day. the oil producer said they own the land therefore that camera was there illegally. So there u have it..... stinky is a bad bad man!

I don't think I would have kept it myself... Maybe hung it on a tree where I wanted to hunt. Have you ckecked the area for cannabis sativa..??? Heck, there may even be a new camera in that same spot now...

I hope you are joking. You are just a plain thief if not. I had a buddy that put a camera on a pad last year cause the deer were short cutting across it heading to water hole in 33. Obviously it got stolen and it sounds like you might be a good suspect.

I'm going to side with stinky on this. The land is Leased from the blm to the oil companies, that cost alot of money. Therefore they are private land with no access from the public. They can be in the area but not on the lease itself. He also said that the lease was on private property, meaning the trailcam has no business being there. My company is setting up a surveilance system, alot more expensive than trailcams to help prevent and prosecute theft.

So your buddy hanging his trailcam on a lease is trespassing. I'd suggest he doesnt do that anymore.
