The Washington State muleys start their move with the first snow. Does & fawns move down below snow level while the bucks tend to hange around at or near snow level. If the snow melts they hold up or even move back up a bit. The deer have very predictable migration routes but exactly when they move is weather dependent until November when the rut kicks in. We suspect that similar movements happen in other states.
