Just seen the Dr. today and got the wonderful results from my M.R.I.! The feeling of a 16 penny nail getting shot in my r/h knee every couple minutes is from a piece of torn cartlidge in the joint from a prior injury that showed its ugly face while conditioning for this hunt! YEAH! Well, according to the Doc, it is nothing that will blow out and leave me stranded or get much worse and that if I have surgery now, it will be six weeks of having my knee braced and locked solid, well, I only have four weeks untill I leave so, I came to my conclusion. That damn surgery will have to wait! I will deal with the nail shot in my knee every 15th step. Just load up on ibuprophen, ice packs, wraps and a bottle of some good stuff and go like hell, even if I have to belly crawl that rock! I was down there last weekend and was fairly mobile. Any archers or rifle hunters see any accesible bulls that they leave behind for the muzzle hunt, I would appreciate the help!!!!!

Good to hear you can still hunt. I will be in touch and would love to see you smoke a big one.

Will you have AC power in your camp?? If so I'll let you borrow my knees best friend...pm me if your interested but I'll tell you after going through a ton of knee surgeries myself, this thing will make your hunt much MUCH much MUCH more comfortable!!

We got the cortisone shot today and so far helped for all but about 3 hours lol! I will do whatever it takes man even if I have to put one of those torched pines between my teeth and bite hard! Still get that sharp pain just walking but oh well, I hope I can get to see some big stinkys and let that adrenalin pumping to get me through!

You'll make it. You will be so focused on your hunt you wont even notice. Once you sit down at camp and rest it might hit ya. Ice, rest as much as possible and get after it. Good luck...

If I was closer You could use my horses and mules. Hell if you feel up to coming and getting them you're welcome to use them.
Hope they can get ya some local pain killer.

Get a neoprene knee brace with velcro straps above and below your knee cap. The neoprene will keep your knee hot. Take lots of advil liquigels. You can take 6 three times a day with food for a couple of weeks according to my back doc. Worked for me one elk season before I had back surgery. PS my knee is also f'd up from rugby. Just put one foot in front of the other.

Bring some rope we can hook ya up to my pack. It may be slow going but i have no doubt you will get yourself a helluva bull. Im hopin to make it down there with ya on your hunt.

Nothing worse than a bum knee, mine did the same thing last year six weeks before our Nevada hunt. Take a brace, walking stick and a bottle of Advil along with some JD. Up hill was not to bad but down hill was hell along with putting your boots on. The good part is it makes you slow down & glass. By the way I killed my biggest buck ever last year. good luck!

I've hunted with a bad knee before too, it sucks! I just loaded up on Ibuprofen, Excedrin Migrane and Mountian Dew! It still hurt just not as bad. Good luck.

Thanks for all the encouragment guys!!!!!!!!! I hope to get a pic of a big boy up here for all of ya after it is all said and done!

Good luck on the hunt. I've got a late tag for there, so I would like to know what you see on your hunt if you don't mind. I've got a bum knee too and hiking sticks really help me out especially in steep country like Dutton.
