I'm trying to get info from anybody who has used these bags. I am going into the Flat top wilderness area of CO. What ever info and as much info as possible will be helpful. This is my first hunt out west. Would the 2800 be adequate for a week long hunt? We will be moving camp everyday possibly, due to the hunting pressure and trying to locate a good deer. So everyday will be a workout. I have compiled most of my list of items needed through this forum and looking at various books and articles (Cameron Hanes articles).I have not been able to find a dealer yet in the area to get a hands on look at these bags.
Thanks

2800 is too small for what youre talking about.

Take a look at eberlestock too......

The 2800 will only work if you are going super lightweight. I can go out for 5 days with my 2800, but that is "minimalist" big time.

The 4500 will have PLENTY of room.

Good Luck,

HS

i looked at the just one pack, looks very comparable to the badlands pack. If you use one tell me what you think.
thanks

I would consider going to a backpacking store and looking at other packs. Not sure you have to have a "camo" pack to have a good backpack/hunting pack.

Not knocking the Badlands...I have one. It is a great little pack.

I would recommend at least 4000 for a week long hunt. Better to have too much room than not enough. I just got a new backpacking pack and it is 4500 and wish I had got the 5200 version. Pretty much the same frame and only a few ounces more.

Definitely the 4500 for your hunt, but still strive to keep weight down and only the real necessities. Highly recommend getting Cameron's book "Back country bowhunting". I am heading out on a wilderness hunt as well for more than a week and I have been packing, unpacking, weighing, etc. since early June. Badlands makes a great pack and Cabelas has a nice line of frame packs that are big and tough. You will need this when you pack your trophy out!~ Best of luck to you.
