LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-10 AT 03:51PM (MST)[p]Thats how i feel. My dad drew the Sportsmen's desert sheep tag. And after all the build up and excitement, We killed one opening day and now it's over. It's awesome but it's also kinda depressing. So i know how ya feel.

Depends where you live and what your budget is. Lots of options though. Get ready to go shoot some ducks in a couple weeks. Head out for forest grouse, quail, chukar, etc. Go scout a unit you hope to hunt sometime in the future. Take a kid or first timer out hunting and help get them hooked. If you want to go after more big game there are still opportunities, buy an OTC elk tag for ID, CO, or UT and go hunt and learn some new country. There are some pretty good units in ID you can hunt with your bow for elk and deer right now, most of ID's hard to draw rifle units are OTC for bow hunters the whole month of Sept. Just choose something and go do it. Good luck.

That does suck, i still havent hunted this year, and its not fun to watch all these succesful reports, but thought about it now... if i were to tag out already ide be bummed too.

+1 to what Daxter said, there is alot of tags still left over in idaho for both deer and elk.

After 20+ days hunting this year, for the first time in my life I can honestly say(and I never thought I would say it) that I wanted to be home with my family more then on a hunt. as fun as it was, and the big bulls I chased, nothing compares to being home with a 19 month old boy that thinks his daddy is everything!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-19-10 AT 08:29AM (MST)[p]daxter you must not be married or have kids that or you get too many kitchen passes. and you must not work for a city. dryboot I cant lie I love being home with my kid she is fun to take but a little to small still cant wait to take her more.

Must be the too many kitchen passes :) I am married with 4 kids and I work for the state not a city. Go hunt some upland game or waterfowl, not too expensive and there have to be some opportunities close to home wherever you live so you don't have to take some much time to travel. It isn't the same as hunting big game, but hey at least you are getting out. For me the day after my last hunt of the year ends is worse than the day after Christmas was when I was a kid.

+1, it is good to be home and tagged out. I hunted 15+ days and scouted even more. I am happy to be home with my family. I am done for the year with big game, but I will chase some chuckars, pheasants, grouse, etc., to fill in the gaps til next year...

That is why I like living out east. Out archery season in MD started 15SEP and goes till the end of Jan. I can kill two whitetails with a bow, 2 with a ML, 2 with during the genreal gun season and all the doe's my freezers can hold. Add in bear , turkeys and small game. Then for good mesure I can still take a trip out west a time or two if I like.

You guys got to be kidding! I tagged out on a nice blacktail early. Since then I've been chasing the mighty wapiti around, with only one good opportunity! I would love to be tagged out, eating chips and salsa, while watching football!! LOL!

oh i will hunt small game and coyotes to pass the time but its a lot of time, tracker12 I dont like you!!!!!!!!!!!! jk good luck sounds like I should move, do you have yardsales for my wife, for some reason she has to go every sat and spend what i do hunting. but if i can keep hunting its fine.
