I drew a late modern Manson tag. I mainly hunt more north and
im not real familiar with the Manson unit. Any pointers would be great!

If you go in along the lake right out of Chelan you can really glass a pile of country. I hunted it on the raffle tag a couple years ago and hunted the whole unit. The east part of the unit burned pretty hard and is some pretty good looking stuff, but we didn't see much for deer.

I don't have a map in front of me, but if you take the main road up along the lake, it switch backs and works it's way clear up to the top of the ridge. By far the most deer activity was in the timber on the way to the top. If you get much snow you won't be able to get over though, we didn't even have much and had to chain up all the way around.

PM me if you'd like more information or specifics.

Good luck!

Head towards the Ski Hill, south Navarre area...depending on the snow you can make a big loop...lots of country in there...should be a good hunt...My brother lives in Chelan and we had that tag three yrs ago....pray for snow and look for signs of migration...That area holds some good ones.

polarbear.....while your over there, you gonna hit the Salmon derby there in Brewster. I got property on the Columbia about 10 miles N. of Orondo....I'll be there 4th, 5th, and 6th. There catchin' some hawgs over there lately.

Salmon fishing in the columbia up there has been awesome!! the fish are running a lot bigger this year. 25 lbs is our average. My biggest so far is 36.4lbs. The fishing has slowed a touch the last couple of days but i think it all has to deal with the hot weather and the fish are making their run up to the brewster pool.

I've never fished for salmon over there. I would love to though. Can you give me some info on how and where? That would be great!! I am going to be over there the 4th-7th, mabe longer. We are going to take my Father In-Law's ashes to the up to Stehekin to spread them on the 5th. The rest of the time, I will be looking to do some fishing and scouting with my kids.

Fletch............. Yep! I'll be packin' my .300 win mag in the rod locker on my boat. Just in case. Haahaaaaaa....... I hope that it isnt 150?. I would have to drag a bear behind the boat to keep it from spoiling. Hey, maybe the kids could ride it like a tube! Hehe..
