sad day in az, as of today this is the only deer tag i'll get for 2006, not counting my arizona archery deer tag, but thats another hunt. looking for any info on this area, drew rifle late hunt, nov. 4-8. thinking about north of aztec towards the colorado border.never hunted out of state before, whats the terrian like, road conditions, weather, any big muleys. any help would be appreciated

I'd look into the Cox canyon area, towards the Southern Ute line. Lots of thick P&J in there. The deer spend most of the night in the river bottom, and cross the road and head up very, very early. You gotta try to catch them before they get into the thick stuff.
If the deer get pressured a lot, then they stay in the river bottoms.
There is some big deer in the area, but they are scattered. And the country that they go into is unreal. It's a tough part of the unit to hunt. Good luck
