I shot and lost a bull on the early San Juan rifle hunt, the bull has a very distinct set of antlers, he is an inline 7 on the left side(small 6th), and big 6 on the right with a kicker between his G4 and G5 making him 7 on the right side. Shot on the North side of the unit on the Blues. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I saw this bull on the archery hunt. He is a sweet bull. I was hunting an area on the blues and ran into this bull a time or 2. Very distinctive antlers, but VERY SWEET looking bull. I hope that you find him. He is a true trophy!

I spent quite a few days down there and never saw your bull but I did see two bulls with extra antlers, one was sticking out of its back and one had one sticking out of it's side but they were still alive.

Thanks for the post, I hope someone else can identify this bull as it is not the bull I lost.

Thanks again

I will be back on the mountain this weekend, any information would be appreciated!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-10-10 AT 10:28AM (MST)[p]kk,Would G&F go out there to retrieve the horns and send a memo out to the archery hunters and try to find the owner?
I know it would be some work, but there ain't that many tags issued in the San Jaun is there?
But I guess it could be a poached animal as well.

To me that would be Good Charma for the person that reunite the two.Hell I'll send the notes out if I can obtain the list.
I need all the Charma I can get, after the last 6 years my wife and I have been thru.

Does it have an arrow(s)in or anywhere around it,to help identify the owner?

Anyway thanks for sharing.

Sorry elknutsareacorns,I was not trying to run roughshot over your post.I do indeed hope you find your bull.I'll say alittle pray to St.Anthony(Saint of loss causes).

The Fish and Game has the horns and it sounds like they have been claimed. I don't know the final outcome yet. Sorry for hi-jacking this post. Hopefully more bulls will get turned in because it sounds like quite a few was hit on SJ this year.

Quite a few were hit on every Unit!
I think the 'BIG STINKY'S' are becomming immune to them wussy Bows!:D

Damn I love my NASCAR race,
And Hell yes I love my Truck!

This is a "RIFLE" hunt where the bull was lost, which we know this is the first documented rifle lost bull on MM, I think your ethics police is needed in an "ARCHERY" hunt.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-11-10 AT 01:02PM (MST)[p]The poster hit and lost a bull on the SJ during the RIFLE hunt. I know the pictured bull is an archery bull that was hit and lost.

No luck yet Joe, I have been down three weekends looking for birds and searching on foot with no success. I hope with the rifle deer hunt starting saturday, and the leaves falling off the Oak Brush, maybe I will get that call I am waiting for, or I will be successful with my own search???

Thanks for your interest, I still think there may be a chance that someone will stumble onto him.
