WA fires, good for permit hunters?

With alot of the fires high in the good mule deer producing units, wintering grounds might bring them early due to lack of forage in fire areas. However, the fires are still raging and might take out the wintering grounds before it is all over. So far it looks like the units affected in the mule deer migration hunts are but not limited to the Swakane, Entiat, Slide Ridge, Manson, Perrygin, Chewuck, Pogue and probably some others. The fires might improve the permit hunts or destroy them. What do you think about all this, better or worse?

I love fires, in the long run best habitat builder we have since the gov. vertually shut down logging.

Wow I have waited 7 years to draw a late tag and now my area is going to be affected. All the deer that I will be hunting migrate from where the Tripod and spur peak fires are burning. I like fire and in the long run will be a good thing but the year i draw it kinda sucks. The other thing it will do is concentrate hunters during the general season and more of the mature animals will be taken. I do however believe that the fires are burning in a slower manner. that Allows the Animal to at least escape the flames. the unit I drew only has a few select deer that I am looking for. My only hope is at least one makes it.

I agree with cjohnson if we aren't able to manage the forest through logging then fires are the next best thing. I know that in burns is one of the first places I look for bucks. In my area the deer flock to burns.
