This was my brothers first Elk hunt. This was also the hardest LE Elk hunt I've been on. We put 100's of miles of dirt road, and miles and miles of hiking steep canyons, but we finally found a Bull big enough to shoot.

First elk hunt or last, that bull is a keeper. Congratulations.

Great bull! Congrats - the hard work does pay off.

That's a big a$$ bull for sure.
All the time and work (play) paid off for you guys.
Congrats!

That is one sweet looking bull!!! Congrats to your brother! They don't get much better than that for a first elk hunt :)

Cheers,
Pete

Congrats, I spent over 20 days on the Books this year scouting and hunting. I can say I only saw one bull bigger than what you killed on the unit. If you don't mind sharing, which canyon did you end up killing him in. I chased a bull that looks pretty close to yours, which happened to be the second biggest bull I saw...I got lucky and killed the third largest...

He looks perfect. i dont think they get more symmetrical than that! I would have shot him too. Congrats on the success

cool best bull i have seen out b.c. every one else had bad hunts shot little ones all they could find 300class. they said to many hunters not any good bulls left you proved them wrong.

No doubt you hunted your Arse off to get a bull of that caliber....congrats

why, as you said, there were not as many bigger bulls on the Books this year. However, there were still a few nice ones taken with the biggest being a guys wife's bull, posted in the elk forum in early September. It was a harder hunt and it did require a lot more effort to kill a bull bigger than 320.

That's a great bull, I just got back from the muzzy deer hunt at the books and saw alot of elk but none of that caliber. I remember thinking that this would be a tough elk hunt compared to some other units. Congradulations.
