Bear with me guys but I'm needing a little education from those from Nevada. Are there general tags like here in Idaho that you can buy over the counter, or do you have to draw a tag every time you want to hunt? Thanks.

some years their are left over tags from the regular draw but they go into a second draw, and that is all over with this year

I think there are some archery area 10 tags that are left over from the draw so they are now for sale on a first come first serve basis. I believe there were some youth tags for same area.

OK I stand corrected. Maybe. There are no general tags in Nevada. There are occasionally some tags left over after the first two draws and subsequent reallocations for an area or areas that may have had too many tags allocated (in my opinion) in the first place. There are also some youth tags left over sometimes but they are not what I would call "general tags". Neither would I consider archery tags "general" but I might be being too specific. Suffice it to say Nevada is usually a tough draw. You have not been able to walk into the liquor store and buy a deer tag since about 1973 or so. (I bought my first one in a bar).

LAST EDITED ON Aug-09-06 AT 08:35PM (MST)[p]NVBIGHORN is exactly right, there are no general tags for sale in Nevada. If any tags are left over after both draws regardless of species or weapon NDOW then puts them up for sale.

I should have been more clear with my reply, sorry for any confusion.

Replied, but guess i forgot to hit the post icon...LOL.

But as others have stated, NO, but you can buy landowner tags in selected units or by an auction tag sold at various fundraisers.
