Colorado 3rd season question

Ok this may be a dumb question , but I'll ask it anyway .

I have never hunted muleys this late in the year , Nov. 4-10 , and was wondering if the accumulation of snow is what forces the deer down or are there other factors involved .

We plan on back packing in and setting up camp around 8500'-9000' and hunting as high as 10,000' or as low as 7500'depending on the depth of snow , if any . Does this make sense and to hunt the snow line , if present ?

Thanks for any feed back .

yes that makes sense. I dont know that I would hunt that high (10,000') Some deer and elk move down anyway bcause of photoperiod. I would concentrate more on the does because bucks will be rutting in eary/mid november. If bucks are not hanging around the does (i really dont see that happening) then hunt a bit higher than where you are seeing the does.

Last year there wasn't much for snow in Western Colorado during 3rd season. But out here mule deer can be found as low as 5100' year round. I see a monster muley in zone 42 almost every morning on my way home from work. The down side is I only see him on private land.
