Calif. A Zone Opens

Tomorrow rifle season opens in A Zone in California. Just curious where anyone on this site will be hunting. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow so I wont be going out. Sunday I'll be out on a little 120 acre ranch near Lompoc. Anyone else going out for the opener?

Seen 4 or 5 rigs headed north up around here where I live today and all of them carrying a pair of ATV's.

Sonoma County which is north of SF about an hours drive. NO, I don't hunt any of these areas. Only out of state hunting for me.

Do you ever put in for the premium hunts here? Im sure you're aware of these hunts and that they do produce good bucks. Whats the story? I figure the more I can get out the better. I would hate to wait until Oct. to go to Wyoming when I can also hunt here in Aug.

Hi Kilowatt, I'm in the same boat as you. I live in the east bay, and have only hunted out of state. I think next year I will be putting in for CA.

Most of the A zone is private property. I don't know of any public land to hunt in the A zone in Northern CA. This post could be more suited for the blacktail section.
