I have hunted 20 days on the boulders this year and was hoping for a 350 class bull. Saw a couple on the archery hunt. Passed several 300-330ish bulls. Next is the late hunt that I know nothing about. Anyone with info. about this time of year would be very helpful. I saw 6 dead elk hunters had killed with biggest being a 310 class bull. Where has the quality gone. High bid permits? Thanks

That seemed to be the general consensus this year on the Boulder. I do think the weather had a lot to do with it. The late hunt should be the best it has been in years given the limited harvest; especially on the West side. Good luck!

It was a very hard year down there. I had a muzzy tag and the weather was really bad for hunting. It was super hot for the first couple days and then it rained and snowed for the rest of the hunt. I ended up with some tag soup. I never saw anything over 320. They are out there the conditions were just really bad. They were not rutting at all were I was at. Everyone I have talked to said pretty much the same thing. I have heard of a few good bulls that were killed. Overall it was a very discouraging year to wait for 10 years for this tag and come home with nothing. I will have to wait another 20 for a chance at them again.

Sorry not famaliar with the boulders but across the way i could maybe help ya out a little bit on a bigger bull if ya had the tag. My guess is they are in there just tucked away real deep somwhere. Stay persistant it will pay off

Dont give up on the higher areas last year late we where seeing bulls in the same areas that we saw them this year early so if you saw some good bulls pre rut go back to those areas they may pay off
