Simple, he is a much better shot than all of us. He has more time to hunt than all of us. He has more money than most of us, which gets him the best tags. He also has a friend who scouts non stop for him. All that being said, another incredible buck. Congrats to him and his guide.

All the money in the world wont buy you the skiils needed to consistently take bucks of that caliber. The guy is just plain good at Bowhunting. Amazing buck....

I think one of his daughters was about to spill the beans on where he's taking all these monster bucks!! The secret almost got out!! Thats cute. What a great buck.

Wow....what a great buck! Congrats to Randy!! I am definitely jealous of his success.....

He has some mad bowhunting skills, yo!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-21-06 AT 03:12PM (MST)[p]What a great buck, I know it is bigger than the two bucks I missed opening weekend! I am going back this Friday for ten days to see if the two I missed are still there.

I mentioned that he is a better shot than anyone on these forums. He has been a hero of mine since I shot near him in the Arizona state indoor tournaments in 1990 and 1991.

I was wondering how long it would take for some guy to come on and post rediculous comments like the one NV just posted.

I know, for a fact, that no plane has ever been used to assist in scouting any of the deer they have harvested together. I have spent time scouting with these guys and it can be grueling, they pound the turf and spend countless hours behind their optics. In fact, I was with them just a week or so prior to their hunt and witnessed firsthand how hard these guys hunt. Its ironic that somebody would imply that these guys would use a plane to scout and locate game when Greg is one of the most outspoken guides I know against the use of aircraft for scouting. Greg lost two of his best friends 2 years ago in a plane crash.

I find it just as rediculous that you would imply that Randy is killing these deer just because he hires Greg as a guide. There is no question that Greg is one of the best guides in the business but Randy is the best bowhunter in the business. Together they have teamed up to take some of the very best animals in North America over the past couple of years. Greg has found deer for Randy and Randy has found deer for Greg. Greg and I hooked up a couple of weeks ago to do some scouting and Randy had already been there for a week. He puts in a ton of hours scouting to maximize his success.

I'll get off my soapbox now but it just fires me up to see statements like the one posted above. I just dont think there is any rom for jealousy in this sport.

Nice buck indeed- One thing- it's not far off the beaten path. I mean, those are some little girls to walk to far! Great pics tho.

Paulybigbore.

I don't know where you comments came from. I never have and never will tell someone to stay off of any mountain, because i have never felt any mountain, especially the one you mentioned was mine. The incident you are referring to happened there on last monday. you weren't there, but your two friends were. one of them named marshall was very nice and talked with Randy and I. Randy and I were trying to find a buck for our friend who had a tag. He has never killed deer with a bow. We showed marshall a buck in the spotting scope and told him we were going to get mike and try and put a stalk on him. They were already stalking bucks with their clients and even tried to get us to hunt a buck they had seen. We told them we weren't interested and suggested they take their clients after the one they had found and we would go after the one we had found. everyone aggreed and we left to find mike. When we came back your friends told us to stay away from a certain area we were about to drive through. Randy asked me to ask them what deer it was and they admitted that it was the buck he had showed them. their hunter was already stalking it because they were done stalking the other one they had found. It seemed rude and unethical to me to do that but I really didn't feel like fighting with these guys over this buck. He wasn't even big. We told them that we wouldn't bother them and that we hunt the other side of the mountain instead. I then asked them to respect where we were going to be and not go over there once they were done with their stalk on the deer we had showed them. Most people would have blown up over the fact that they had agreed to not stalk a deer and then did it anyway. We then proceeded to stay out of the way and found a buck for mike to stalk ( a small 24 inch 3x4) when mike was about to get in range (twenty minutes later) your other friend and another guide who owns the outfitting business you work for then decides to drive off road into a burn and park 45 yards from my friend who was about to shoot his first buck. I chalked it up to public land hunting until I recognized him and his hunter and realized he was marshalls boss. I radioded marshall and asked him if he had told his boss to do that and he said no. He apologized and said he hadn't talked to him in quite some time. I chalked it up to bad luck and even had a cordial conversation on the way down the mountain with both of them. We were all laughing. they even said sorry because they didn't know we were hunting in there. we said don't worry its public land. Marshall then said he would stay out of there because he felt bad for messing us up twice in the same day. We then agreed to stay on one side and they agreed to stay on the other the next morning. We didn't demand it we just worked it out together. the next morning we found some more small bucks for michael and sent to tell marshal where some other bucks were so he could stalk them. Does that sound like a game hog to you???? We left to go get mike and when we returned i set up my scope to show mike the buck and in the same view finder was marshall and one of your hunters just 60 yards away from the bedded buck. I aggree that it is public land, but just tell me you are going to screw me and save me the two hour round trip to go and get my buddy. I got on the radio and called marshal after his hunter missed the buck and was very upset when he told me he didn't realize where he was and didn't see our vehicle(which were skylined 750 yard away. I felt like he had screwed us and told him so. He apologized and wanted to come talk to us. I never threatened him. soon afterwards he showed up and apologized profusely over and over again. He said he had royally screwed us and felt bad about. He kept asking me to accept his apology. I told him was public land and I should have expected it. I asked him to please stop asking us what we were seeing and to tell me where he was going to go so I could go elsewhere. The next day he drove around and found me and wanted to apologize again. If I was so wrong and such a jerk to him why was he apologizing to me. He said it was not right what he did and he just felt bad. As far as you paul, I believe you shot a deer on last years rifle hunt while my dad's best friend(65 years old with two bad Legs)was looking at him through the rifle scope. He and I both walked up to you and congratulated you. That is public land hunting. Of course I wanted to get that buck, it was a great buck, and I told you so. Nobody did anything wrong. the difference was you didn't ask randy where the buck was and then tell him you would honor the fact that he saw it first. You of all people should know that I don't feel like i own the mountain after what happened on your own personal hunt last year. I hope You are the same guy I am thinking of, if not you were definately there with your brother Tom and friend John. Whatever I did to piss you off Must have been terrible, and if I did do something wrong I am truly sorry. As for what I said happened between Your buddy Marshall And I, ask marshall to come on here and verify it. He seems like a guy who was genuinely sorry and an alright guy. I will continue to think that unless something happens otherwise. Your comments about How great randy is and how I can kiss your ---- are totally uncalled for and I think it is funny how you never said this to my face. I have tried to be respectfull on this column, but I won't stand for someone slandering me on a website. If you have a problem with me I would be glad to discuss it with you, And I won't hide behind a computer screen while doing it. PS. If I were going to buy a mountain it sure wouldn't be the one you mentioned. the only reason we went there was because there were lots of stalking opportunites for our inexperienced buddy. greg krogh

Notice the smile on the guys face. He kills big deer every year and still has a chit eating grin.

It cracks me up when I see a picture of a guy with his giant buck and they got this mean look on their face like they kill big bucks every day.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-21-06 AT 09:20PM (MST)[p]SOME THINGS WERE SAID IN MY POST WERE I SAID SOME STUFF ABOUT GREG THAT WAS 2ND HAND INFO. I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH GREG,WE TALKED FOR AWHILE,HE VENTED HIS FRUSTRATIONS WITH ME,ABOUT WHAT I SAID,I APOLOGIZED TO HIM FOR THE THINGS THAT I SAID SEVERAL TIMES.HOPEFULLY ALL OF THIS B/S CAN GO AWAY NOW AND WE CAN GET ON WITH OUR HUNTING.ONCE AGAIN GREG I APOLOGIZE FOR THE THINGS THAT I SAID,AND IF WE EVER MEET UP IN THAT SMALL TOWN,I WOULD LIKE TO BUY YOU A STEAK DINNER.

What impresses me the most is that he brings home the monsters and still hasn't forgotten about his family. Great job, again, guys.

Congrats Randy. Just wait until you get to take those girls bow hunting. It will make you smile just as much as that awsome buck. I took my 16 year old daughter bow hunting for her first time this year. (Can just pull 40lbs) She got the fever with a 16" 3 point, and missed clean at 30 yards. It was the best opening day I've had in years.

enogh already ,can we all get the real answers everyone really wants to know . How wide ,how tall, pictures are deceaving, put some perspective on him

Congrats to Randy on another super buck. I predicted he'd get another monster. This one might not win the big buck contest, but it is sure a contender in my book. And yes, definitely great to see him and his daughters together in such a great picture. He is a great hunter. I'm confident I could not get those bucks year after year.

goes without saying that everytime a monster is killed, the ##### talk starts. Randy, Greg, both of you are incredible hunters, are very dedicated, and do what it takes. Tony was right in his post, no amount of money can buy the shot or the skill it takes to arrow a muley of that caliber, that takes a hunter who knows what the hell he is doing. Excellent job guys, keep the pics coming.

HEY GREG CONGRATS TO RANDY ONCE AGAIN! NOW ITS YOUR TURN ANY HUNTS FOR YOU THIS YEAR? SHARLIN VANS EMPLOYEE PRESCOTT VALLEY ARCHERY. SURE MISS WORKING IN THE BUSINESS AND ALL YOU GUYS COMING IN WITH THE PICS AND STORIES AND WORKING ON BOWS. BUT IT SURE IS NICE HAVING ALOT OF TIME TO HUNT THIS YEAR!"THE MEANING OF LIFE IS TO LIVE IT!"

Holy hot tomato paste, great buck. Love the California Camo the girls have on.

Greg ,Tom here , congrats on a great buck . You guys put in the hard work year after year to be as successful as you have been,I honestly think the competitive nature of hunting trophy deer and elk is getting the best of all of us ,the recent posts, and the meeting in the hills has left a bad taste in all of our mouths, I know from talking to John, that he as well, thinks this whole thing is geting out of hand,we are all more alike than not,I personally would like to be able to learn from you not fight with you . We are all into the same things, just for a moment, imagine what could be, if you and the guys from PS would actually work together, the possibilities are endless .CANT WE JUST ALL GET ALONG. . greg, I dont know if paul told you or not , but his 15 year old son, after 2 years of applying drew a 111 222 late rifle bull tag this year, I personally welcome you into are camp this december, we have alot of obvious help from are freinds in pioche ,but youre help is definately welcome. With a combined effort ,lets see what we can do working together .sincerly TOM . P.S . The same kid drew a 231 youth tag,we are gonna hunt the last weekend of the bow hunt , pretty much just scouting for the muzzy season, we seen a buck last year were after ,and for all of you here at MM keep looking for KELLY!S BUCK,and you will see why these two groups are being so competetive. and again Greg , no harm was ever intended, put the past in the past and look to the future
