Well just got back from my elk hunt in southern Colorado and was able to score on this bull this morning. (third day of season) The warm weather made the hunting tough and the elk only moved in the early morning hours and the last hour before light. I chased a bull opening morning that we located on friday afternoon that we guessed to be 330 or so but due to thick cover and a sudden wind change I got busted and he blew out of the country. After than elk became hard to find and my father, my brother and myself found ourselves looking in the farthest reaches of the unit we could in order to locate elk. Finally this morning we ended up walking into a canyon and located this bull and other 5 point feeding on a hillside. 2 shots with the 300 RUM at about 275 yards and he was mine. I have yet to put a tape on him.. any guesses on what he'll score?
