We drew 3rd season rifle tags for 31 this year and wondered if a guy could bring his bow and if can't find a big buck take a conservation buck with a bow. It would be more challenging to take a descent three point with a bow than a rifle and we are bowhunters anyways. Obviously have to wear blaze but other than that is it legal to hunt with a bow during rifle season if you have a rifle deer tag? nwhunter

The area you are talking about will be tough to bow hunt at that time. I'm going to be there with my son for the second combined rifle season, and I drew a buck tag as well.

Good Luck!

Awholelottabull is hit it on the head with that one. Scout and then plan on what your going to shoot that buck with a Bow or rifle, I wonder if can ML in rifle season.

And remember, you will have to wear Blaze orange to be legal!

If you have private land to hunt it would be a lot more doable but if you are hunting public it will likely be a very tough deal with bow. I believe 31 is an unlimited elk unit and public land in unlimited units is usually a zoo.

Thanks guys for the replies. Ya it would be tough but last year had several sneaks just to see how close I could get and its doable. More of a challenge if it comes down to taking a smaller buck to fill a tag. Yes blaze of course. nwhunter
