I have always wondered why the Boulder unit has such a tiny elk herd. The objective elk population is only about 1500 head for this huge unit. The nearby Fish Lake unit has an objective of about 4700 head with less elk HABITAT than the Boulder. If Utah is serious about increasing it's elk herd, the Boulder is a good place to start.

I had a dutton tag and ran into a cattle rancher and he told me to shoot as many as I can cause they cut back his welfare allotment for the elk.... Classic

I have not seen any Boulder Conservation Elk tags available in 2011. Strange? they usually give out a couple.
