Rate these hunts

Thanks guys for your feedback on my earlier posts. I do agree with most, and overall the elk herds are in semi-good health, but not great like they were...I see too many of the units going the other direction. I believe one of the few exceptions was the Wasatch, it seems to be on the rise after reading the posts...

Anyways, I have some points to burn and need some feedback on units to get a quality bull (350 range)

These are some hunts I am leaning on applying for that I could draw soon

Book Cliff Roadless muzzy
Wasatch muzzy
Pahvant Archery
Pahvant Late
San Juan Late

Hunts I could wait for, draw probably within 4-5 years.

Book Cliffs Roadless Rifle
Wasatch Rifle
San Juan Archery

What would you guys recommend and why?

This is my order and why:

Pahvant Late
Know guys that hunted it this year, looked over 50-60 bulls and killed a dandy.

Pahvant Archery
I think about the best Archery elk hunt.

Book Cliff Roadless muzzy
They will be rutting, should be able to get a nice one.

Wasatch muzzy
Took a hunter there last year, we bugled in 10 bulls per day. FUN FUN FUN.

San Juan Late
Probably the best potential, but man people struggle to find them down there.

That really depends on how good of a bow hunter you are and/or how much time you have. If you know what you are doing I would say go Pahvant Archery because of the long season and the number of bulls on the unit that meet your goal. I have only seen a few late bulls off the Pahvant and I was not impressed with very many of them. They tend to be all broken up. I don't think you can go wrong with any San Juan tag either.

I would go:

Pahvant Archery
San Juan Late
Book Cliffs RDL muzz
Pahvant Late
Wasatch Muzz (lots of tags)

I am in a similar position. I only have 9 points, but I prefer archery as well...decisions, decisions.

I am a decent at best archery hunter, I still have a lot to learn. I took a good archery bull off a semi-difficult unit this year, but it was not easy and took over 20 days of hunting/scouting. Still, one if not my top hunting moment, was bugling in a good bull I had been hunting for three or fours days with his cows for a 20 yard shot...

I do like archery, just not sure if I would be able to get a bigger bull even archery hunting Pahvant. It is tempting. So is the Book Cliff Roadless Muzzy or Wasatch Muzzy...

dont know about the rest b.c.rdls rifle if you hunt hard spend the season in rifle is done deal.whould not even think about muzzy knew a guy who had this year ,turned in could find a bull before hunt over 330. said he did not wate 13 years to shoot a dink.like that average bulls this year i herd 320 330 tag holders .said they would not go back this unit agin.
