I have a picture of the new Colorado Pope and Young Bull elk that gross 459. If I can email it to someone they can post it. The last time I tried to cut and paste it posted my entire photo bucket. Have a new computer with Windows 7 and not comfortable with posting pictures yet.

That is one of the pictures I also received in the mail. Kilowatt I sent you an email with the other picture - I was told that the bull was shot on private land and not a high fence bull. That is all the info I have.

I am not a bow hunter but I does Pope and Young recognizes elk shot on high fence farms?

Take that "I" out of the sentence with "I does" - should read the post better before posting.

I have attached a picture I received from a friend on this bull, he also sent the one already posted. My info said the bull was shot on private land and not a high fence bull. Not sure if Pope and Young recognizes bulls shot on high fence. Thanks for posting.

That bulls amazing! The racks sweet, and doesnt look sterioded out. I wouldnt doubt that its free range. Landowner might have not allowed any hunting on his property for a long time and this pig simply got old and big where he was safe.

That does not look like high fence country. Great bull!!!! Congratulations to the hunter I hope he has a high ceiling in his house he is going to need it.

My only question is why does this information not come out until December? Id figure a new state record hitting the ground would of been big news back in september and october.

not saying it is high fence,, but you ever notice how the hunters always look fresh? no sweat,no dirt or blood.. just saying

I ain't calling BS quite yet, but curious how the 2 pictures differ so much in terrain and foliage. Awesome bull would like to hear more about it.

Think about this, how many 400 plus bulls killed in Colorado in the last 30 years?? Then you tell me what you think the chances of that not being a ranch bull are?

Always suprising how guys will fall for any picture as legit the score, it self, tells the obvious fact--not a P&Y bull and not a wild elk. Also, if a legit magnum bull like that was ever arrowed, what are the odds someone who knows nothing other than that they got it in an e-mail is gonna 'break the news' on MM or some other website. Too good (or bad in this case) to be true.

SCI recognizes anything that once had a pulse and that was harvested in a corral, pen, etc. It could be purchased at a livestock auction, taken out back, and have its head lopped off with a samurai sword and it could be the next SCI worlds record.

P&Y is a bit different in that they only recognize wild animals arrowed in a fair chase hunting situation by an actual hunter. :)
