I am heading there for first week in October. Does anyone have any experience in this area? What are the range conditions like and how are the antlers this year?

i will be there the second week in october. i'm hunting a small private ranch next to some state land. the landowner of the ranch said its real dry, but the irrigated fields around the area are holding lots of deer and antelope. if i were you i would try to hunt near some irrigation or maybe some river bottom.
It is extremely dry this year. However we got some moisture this spring when we needed it and the horn growth is better then expected I have seen quite a few good deer this fall. We have quite a few hayfields where we hunt and that is where alot of the deer are hanging out at.
Wow that is awesome. I am going to be hunting with Cole Benton of Grizzly Outfitters. He is saying the same thing you guys are. He did say though that they have had some fires. Thanks for the input.
You should have no problem with those guys they shoot some huge deer every year they did have a big fire out there this year but they have alot of land to hunt.
