WY Area 143 (Big Piney)

I am heading up to area 143 on Thursday to hunt deer just west of Big Piney. I have never been to this area before and will be heading up with my step-dad who drew this area for moose. Can anyone give me any general information for deer in this area? Rifle season opens on Friday. Are there lots of hunters? number of deer? and what size of deer can I expect? We will be hunting in the national forest I believe. My step-dad has been scounting the area for moose, but could not say about the deer numbers or quality as he has not been looking for them.

Sorry kilowatt, I didn't realize I hid my profile. Should be fixed now. Anyways, I guess we will be directly west about 20 miles on a highway thats turns into a dirt road towards the national forest. I've never been to the area, but just decided to tag along with my step-dad while he is moose hunting to try my luck at a deer. Thanks for any help.

I have hunted that area quite a bit in the past havent been there for two years as the pressure seemed to be getting worst every year. The Moose always seemed to be lower then the good deer best bet is to park at a trailhead and hike up and do some high country looking. Still some good deer in there they just timber up and stay that way when the people start rolling in. A good start is to get above Middle Piney Lake and to the North of it. Best of Luck
