Selway Bucks

Planning a possible ID Selway elk hunt for next year. While rifling for elk, I was wondering what kinda bucks we might cross paths with (average, generally below average or hold out for really decent)? Probably be somewhere up by Moose Creek / Selway River Jct.

Depends on How you are getting in there. If you are horse packing with and outfitter you should get a look at a decent buck. The thing is that the density is low compared to most any other place. There are some big bucks in the area, but if you are flying in and hunting off the Moose creek air strip or off the end of the road, then I would not count on seeig anything more then a 140-150 4 point, if that.

Thanks for the info. We'd be please with anything even approaching 140. Primarily elk hunting, but plan to have deer tags too. Anybody else ever been out that way?
