anybody here have heart bypass surgery plus a stint at stint implant...and then hunt elk the following fall at 9,000 feet...just learned today that I might be giving this year's elk a real sporting chance...reckon this won't be a high fence elk hunt sho nuff peta must have put a curse on me...dang

My Grandpa was telling his docter to hurry up and get his pace maker changed out so he could heal up for the elk hunt. He is 94 and rode in on horse back and made his hunt last year. He had to get a new one , the battery was worn out.
I hope to have the same problem when I am 94. He had his bypass at 65 . Still goin strong.
Good luck on your hunt ! I am sure you will enjoy it !

my dad twice. Killed his two biggest deer after both bypass surgeries. You will be fine!!!

My dad had two open heart surgeries about 10 years apart and spent considerable time at high altitudes (above 9000 feet)afterward. He got a great Bookcliffs bull in 2006 ten years after his last surgery and about a year after stints. Just make sure you follow your PT regimen and diet afterwards and slowly build back up your strength and you can get it done. Best of luck to you!

I had a quad bypass in May 09 and had no problem with a hunt in Montana that season (which included dragging a cow elk whole over snow for a mile with one other guy). Of course, I was in good shape (weight wise). I've never felt limited because of it.
