I dont personally know anyone because i have never drawn the tag but everyone always talks good about AWHOLELOTTABULL. Just look for something he has posted on this site and send him a pm. I am sure from what i've heard, he will be great! Good luck!

It's a nobrainer for me. AWLB will be the first call I make when I draw my tag. I dare you to find any past clients that have anything bad to say about the man.

Jim is the top pick on this site. He lives in the unit and spends alot of time in the unit. Herad alot of great comments about Jim, but never heard a bad comment about him. I'd bank my money on that anyday!!!

Good luck in the draw.

Never heard anything bad about Jim? well I don't like him! He stood me up for dinner last year. Talk about a sorry piece of crap. It took me hours to get ready. And to think I had dieted for 6 months just cuz I knew I was gonna go to dinner with him. Then at the last minute he cancels. Something about his dumb daughter getting a scholarship to dance in college or sumthin. Well Jim I have no respect for you.......... And if I ever see your older daughter im gonna yell foul dirty obsenities at her and hit on her!

A whole lotta bull is right! The nerve of some people!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-22-11 AT 07:07PM (MST)[p]Unfortunately txhunter is right. We have retired from the outfitting business. I've been guiding for a long time and have build up max points in several states. It's time to burn em up! Hunting for myself is always hard to do when you spend the bulk of prime time guiding for someone else. I have enjoyed every minute of it. Even the trying times have been great. A lot of memories have been built up over the past but my wife and I decided that it's time to do something else. Our kids are older and more involved and it's getting tougher to get to things in the fall. I will lay this out there though, anybody that draws a Wasatch tag is more than welcome to get a hold of me and I will share my limited elk knowlege of that unit. IMO it's one of the best places to hunt in the state! I do appreciate the kudos though.

And Stinkbug, you make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.:D

It's always an adventure!!!

And after reading so much good about you, I was ready to put in for your area! Oh well, back to the drawing board.

But I hear ya, family does come first, and it is only fair that someone who has given others so many good hunting adventures should have some of his own.

Good luck!

Don't go back to the drawing board. If I were you, I would seriously look into the boys at Strawberry Bay Marina. It's a multi-generational thing up there. Berryblaster on here is one of the Phillips crew. They do an outstanding job and if you can choke down those horrible breakfasts they have up there (just kidding! Awesome breakfasts!!!) you may gain several pounds while hunting. They consistantly kill some of the biggest bulls on the unit every year. PM berryblaster or let me know and I can get you their information.

It's always an adventure!!!

Thanks fellas for the good gestures, we have been workin awfully hard....it pays off. And the breakfasts are good for one thing Jim, heart failure....but thats what makes food good lol hehe I don't cook them so i'm not responsible!

bbking. i would be happy to help too. i have had 2 wasatch le rifle tags, and taken 1 good bull. the first was a rag 5x5 on the last day in 2002. the second was a nice 8x8 on opening day in 2008. if you draw, i would love to help you if i can.

i also think the wasatch is hard to beat for elk. it is a huge area (maybe the biggest?) with lots of varying terran. you can hunt about any terrain you want(cedars, aspens, pines, sagebrush , etc.) and i think that is not typical of other units. i live in AF and know parts of the unit pretty well. in 2008 the best bull i saw was 370ish and we saw maybe 10 or 12 that were 320-340. but i had seen this 8x8 and wanted him.
good luck.
