I did draw a general season combo for mt. I had permission on some private, but lost it. I would appreciate any help on a good public area for deer elk or both. I don't have much time, so any input would be great input to get me started!

try and get the block managment maps... but at this late date, you may need to stop at the headquarters and look for a type 1 unit to get onto.

I was looking to go unit 3 simply because it was closer to home. my tag is a general season combination.. I am not familiar with a block map?

BMA maps available at the regional office in Bozeman, or at area offices in Butte or Helena for area 3, You can try calling (406) 994-3288 or email at [email protected]

you get to choice of up to 5 areas, at this late date I dont know if you can get a reservation due to waiting this long to find a place. the maps came out in August so most of the type2 BMA's will probably be full so that leaves type1 BMA which are first come first serve.

if all else fails try the Bloodydick creek area or just hug the Montana/Idaho state line.... but everybody and there brother will probably be there with you.
