Does anyone have any information they would be willing to give me about how to make the wooden plaque for a european mount? My son got a nice buck this year and i really want to make it look nice for him.. and help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Look up either Mcenzie taxidermy supply or vandyke's taxidermy supply they both have some good kits.

When i made mine i just layed the skull on the piece of wood i was gonna use and held the pencil straight up and down and traced around the skull. Then i knew that followed the shape of my skull so i made the line an inch farther out all the way around and cut it out.i I rounded the edges with a router and sanded it up.Then for the base that mounts to the wall i just cut out roughly a 6-8 inch circle and again used a router to round those edges. For the piece to join the base to the skull mounting board just experiment with the angle you want and cut it out.I'm not very good at woodwork and mine came out pretty sweet.

I take a raw log, oak, fir or alder, and make a 1 1/2" cut at a steep angle in order to leave a ring of bark and moss around the edges. Then put a couple clear coats on it.
