Sons First Deer

My son shot his first deer on Sun. After passing on several 2 point bucks, we finally got into postion to harvest this buck for him, he made a perfect double lung shot at 150 yards. We where hunting during the AZ unit 10 youth hunt.

Congratulations to your son! That's a great first buck. Hoping to get my son his first buck this year also, can't wait for Oct. 14. In regards to your son's deer still having velvet, did it have it's testicles? I shot a buck two years ago that was still in velvet, no nuts! Very good eating though. Scott/couesbitten

Congrats to your son! That is what it is all about, a father and his son out in the hills. The memories that this boy has of this hunt will last his lifetime. I still remember my first buck like it was yesterday (18 years ago).

What a great way for a boy to get his first buck. That is a very quality deer and to have you and your son share that experience is great. As far as I am concerned it does't get much better in the hunting world than that.

Nice buck and good shooting!! I love taking my 15 year old son out hunting. It's the best time for both of us when we go. Just him and I! Congratulations to the both of you. Good job on passing up the small ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
