Sons 2006 Idaho buck pics......

I picked my son up after school yesterday and figured we would take a quick drive out after deer. We found this bad boy out with 7 doe's. It was an either sex area for youths and we found a doe right away. He went after the big doe and this buck stood up as he was adjusting for the doe. Well my son switched right over to him. They spotted us and all we saw was the doe first and then all the deer stood up and when they spotted us they just ran out there about 20 more yds which put the shot about 75 yds. He shot the buck and I saw them run and at about 50 yds the buck started getting weak kneed and went down. Then we had to load him quick and head back as my son told me he had to be at his roller hockey game early. Which ended up not having to be there later.

That is a great buck. Good mass, and looks like a big body too. More meat on that guy than the doe I bet. Congrats to you and your son. Idaho is awesome!

Jerry, looks like your son is taking right after you. Your going to have to get him a bow so he can start hunting with you. Congrats to him.

How's everything in Jerome these days? I was up there the same time the fair was going on a couple months ago. Looks like Jerome has grown a lot since I lived there.

Thanks all. He was pretty wound up over him. All he talked about at his hockey game. I really enjoy taking him as he brags about being able to spend time with his dad. I told him that he might not get another as nice and he said we will try. I was like I will try to get him one better. He almost shot a forked horn buck on Sunday while we where elk hunting. But it turned and ran. That buck is bigger than any buck I have shot with my rifle.
He was a very big bodied buck and his neck was swelling up. guess what time that is. I figure in about 2 weeks it will start or less.

He said he needs a few more years for a bow. He is smaller and he could not pull a bow yet. But will get him into one in a couple years then he can go after some of my hunting grounds with me. He has been with me and saw the ones I have and he is excited for it but he told me he will wait though for it. He knows I will not let him down with it.
Jerome is growing fast here. To fast. more sub divisions going in.
But thanks again for the kudos. he deserves it more than me as he was the shooter.
