Idaho Help

just got back from there, more snow than i could have imagined. could barely get off highway 26. no deer sign or anything

The Swan Valley area lost alot of deer last winter. There are almost no yearlings, doe or buck to speak of. There was a 95% winter kill on fawns this last winter. I was told by a biologist that out of 30 faws that were collard 28 died. As they were going to retrieve the collars there were dead deer everywhere. I have hunted the area for years and there are defently less deer. Could be a tough year in that country this year. Good luck anyway.

I just got back from 66 and was glad to see the deer numbers were not as bad as I thought they would be after reading the reports. I saw lots of does and little bucks. A few decent bucks but I did not kill any of them unfortunately. I was glad to see a decent fawn crop for this year. There was not that much snow in 66 even at 9000 feet. Good luck for the rest of the season.
