AZ UNIT 8 LATE

I POSTED THIS IN GENERAL FORUM BY ACCIDENT. DREW LATE SEASON TAG AND HAVE NOT BEEN IN THIS UNIT IN ALONG TIME. PLAN ON DOING ALOT OF SCOUTING ANYONE HAVE SUGGESTIONS WHERE TO CAMP IN THIS UNIT AWAY FROM OTHER HUNTERS.DO THE ELK STAY HIGH OR DO THEY GET DOWN INTO THE CANYONS AND LOWER ELEVATIONS. THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE

Scattered herds of elk over all of unit.Temps have alot to do with movement.Plenty of Big Bulls in "8".High elevations,plenty of yellow grass and of course water.Quads can't go in the canyons where bulls like to go in Nov.Look there,Good Luck --- You have a very good tag in Az. I hunted this during the archery season last year so I don't know much about the late season. There weren't many places to camp away from other unless you pack it in and there are like twice as many tags for that late hunt so probably plan on camping with the masses.

I drew the early archery tag for 8. I'd be happy to let you know what I learn from my hunt. I will be there for the entire season plus a few days early.
