2006 COLORADO MULE DEER !!!!!

yee freaking ha ! well here is my biggest MULE DEER to date. he is a main frame 4x4 with 6" bases. he was estimated by the meat cutters/game warden to be a 332lb live weight. freaking HUGE. 82 yards one shot (heart shot too !) dropped him right back into his bed where he stood up from and stared at me. I'm happy ! now off to new mexico next week for another one, it will be tought to top this buck though. he will be scored at the taxidermist tomorrow I'll let you know the green score.

well thanks you all- I like him ! I'm not sure who/what crazymaez is all about but if he knew me he would never worry about scoring squat. I shoot the first buck I see that I can legally harvest as long as it's NOT a baby/small one. I DO NOT live for scoring squat so that would not matter to me much anyway I mentioned it for the guys here who do score things. and I DO NOT see whitetails- I think whitetails are filthy LITTLE nasty deer- MULE DEER are real deer- really BIGGER deer- ha ha ! but seriously it goes in to the taxidermist tomorrow morning to be mounted and I'll have him put the tape on it anyway- why not right. he was estimated by g&f at the aformentioned 332 lbs live weight and about 6 1/2-7 years old. also I got 178 pounds of cut, wrapped, and frozen meat from the meat cutters down there- very happy indeed ! I will NEVER EVER EVER PASS ON A BUCK LIKE THIS ONE. damn I love hunting MULE DEER ! thanks again guys ! I know the blood is there but hunting alone I could only take so many photos, I had the meat cutters actually take those "bloody" pics as there was no one else around to do it for me then, most of the blood is from the elk hanging to the left of my buck. and to bobcatbess- I did'nt even take my quad this trip, thought it would be to much of a hassle with gas prices to tow the trailer all the way up there and back. used my feet- and my truck !

I'll bet that buck will score better than a lot of people would initially think (especially if he was that big bodied). I'm going to guess low 170's. Congrats on a good hunt.

i hunt to compete with my self. that is a great buck and if its your personal best you won the superbowl. i'd shoot him in a secound and be tickled to death to do so.
i'm down to hunting my deer in sundance and while i have a chance to take either a muley or a white tail i'll probuly shoot a whitetail.
my goal on a whitey is 150" the biggest i have is 142 gross,
my goal for a muley is 180" the biggest i have is 178 gross.
with a rife scores don't meen a thing to me with a bow i do care just so i could put more into P&Y.
i don't need to fill the tag at all i have my freezer full but i sure do like to shop.
i love to hunt the worst day in the feild to me is the one where i fill my tag then i have to wait a whole year to do it again. enstead i shop hard and on the last day of the last season i'll shot a meat deer. this year i don't need the meat so i may not shoot one at all.
i will allways love another rack bigger than i have so far.
hunting is competeing with yourself who cares what the next guy thinks.
point i'm making is great job.you did better than i'll do in my compatition with myself.

well for the scorer's here, the tail of the tape is-
mainframe 4x4, 27" outside spread, 330lbs on the hoof, 180+ pounds of edibel cut wrapped meat, GREEN SCORE 181" official and all. horns currently at MY house waiting as the cape is now heading to the tanners and will be a full shoulder mount, facing left so he can fit on my wall with the others he is the biggest weighted deer especially since the deer I have are desert MULE DEER and this one is from the mountains. but it looks like after the drying period it won't stay at 180 so he's #2. for those of you who wanted to know anyway- to me I could care less. I am happy that my wall is going to have the 4th full shoulder mounted monster muley added very soon !! I do have a nm hunt next week and maybe this will be my year, who knows ? freezers damn near full !
