Before we get scoring let me remind you of a few things. Score contest started at contest 15 to count towards the grand prize of a bow. A person must compete in 12 of 15 contest to be eligible for the bow. Your lowest three scores will be dropped if you compete in all 15 contests. Anyone can compete weekly for a hunting video and a hat. The contest will end at 29. Contest 30 will start next seasons stuff. I have been given a lot of input on ideas for the contest. Lets just say some are great and some not. However don't get too comfortable because there be some major twist coming in the last 5 weeks of the contest to crown out ultimate scorer for 2011.
Okay, Have you ever wanted to draw the Wasatch Limited Entry archery tag. Well this weeks hunter did it with two points!. His brother killed a 6x7 last year and it was a stud. Guess what? the miracle happened for brother #2. I pried into where they were killing these bulls and people would freak if they knew where they hunt. Lets just say that while everyone is venturing as high as they go these young men are hunting a batch of elk that many of you probably drive by as you venture in and out of the canyons. The silly thing is both bulls have been killed less than 100 yards from a main road.
Hopes were high as the brothers scouted all summer and seen numerous great bulls. They went back to the honey hole on opening morning and had this bull in full velvet at 60 yards but never could get the right shot. 4 days later and all rubbed off, our hunter dumped this bull at 15 yards with a Matthews Bow tipped with a grim reaper. THey patiently wait for their waiting period to be over and now prey a few more buddies will draw. The funny thing is this was the 3rd largest bull of the bachelor group with two being just a bit larger. They obviously didn't hesitate on this beauty. Congratulations. Also the the teeth results put this bull at 5 years of age. I knew he was young because of a his body size but seriously there is still some great bulls and genetics running around right close to home here in Utah.
This Weeks Rules.
1. Only one gross guess per member please
2. THe correct score or closest score will win a Hunting DVD and hat.
3. I am heading to Vegas for the week so contest will end Monday the day after easter.
4. Just because a score has been taken, it still can be used. Add him up and put what you like.
5. There are two little euros for your only hint on this weeks animal
