Drew out 3rd season and dont know $!#* about it. Can somebody please tell me any info about it, where to go, high low land, what kind of bucks to expect, will they be ruting, PLEASE HELP! Thank you

how bout this: Unit 62 is characterized by canyon systems draining off the Uncompahgre Plateau forming isolated northeast southwest trending mesas. Higher elevations consist of aspen/fir stands separated by sagebrush flats, mid elevations of mountain brush, and lower regions of pinyon juniper woodlands.

find a transition zone

Dominguez Ridge, Escalante Breaks, Kelso Mesa & Cabin Bench all can be good but don't get caught up there in a storm, might have to leave your rig there till spring.

It always astounds me when someone makes a comment like this. I never put in for a unit unless I know a great deal about it, especially 2 weeks before I am supposed to be there.

That said, you will be hunting the most heavily hunted unit in Colorado. Mainly due to the fact that the elk hunting is OTC. The only way to be successful is to use other hunters to your advantage (or get really lucky). Have never hunted there, but I have heard that your best bet is to drop off into the roughest canyons you can find as far from a road as possible.

You might check with the local Chamber of Commerce and see if there are still any private land hunts available that might just charge a tresspass fee.

They should be starting into the rut.

I hope you have a great hunt and get a big-un.
