I just got a phone call from the UDWR for my dad because his card was bad and I had to give them new information. He got the Paunsaugunt management hunt with 3 points last year, two weeks before the hunt the UDWR called him and offered him the tag someone else did not want. This year he asked me to put him in for a rifle elk tag somewhere close to home, so I put him in for the Panguitch Lake late rifle hunt with his 3 bonus points. And he drew. His second choice was Alton CWMU, but I doubt he got that tag as a second choice.
Two years and two harder to get tags. He is pretty lucky. Mom is hoping his luck runs out any year now.
I know the unit has been suffering, but he wanted to have a chance of killing his first bull elk before his body won't let him get out and hunt. He won't be too picky.
