Posted in the Colorado Forum and thought I would post here as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Just found out that my 17 year old Nephew drew an Elk tag in Unit 201 (EE201E1R) in the new random draw that I put him in for.

Since this unit typically takes 20+ points to draw and is one of those units that you only dream about, we will be relying heavily on our Monster Muleys friends to helps us out with this one.

Since he will be in his Senior year of high school and time may be an issue we may be considering hiring a guide or outfitter if necessary.

Thanks ~ Stryker

LAST EDITED ON May-28-11 AT 10:41PM (MST)[p]Im your man for the job Stryker. Lucky kid! He's in for a hunt of a lifetime. I've helped with quite a few hunts up there now. I know the area very well and spent my entire life up there running around in units 2,10 and 201. I will be guiding through out the season but have oct 1-11 off due to its the lay over from archery to 1st rifle season. Would love to help out on this. PM me and we'll get the ball rolling.

P.S. Saw wylcoyote sent you a PM. That would be my old man.. looks like he beat me to the punch on this one! But do PM me, we will both do our best to help out on this.

Hello Stryker,
Tell your nephew congratulations and to get practiced up on his shooting it will be a great hunt and opportunity for him.
If you would like some help please consider us as we have been guiding there for over 20 years and know the country and the animals very well and have taken many good bulls over the years.
We are BLM permitted and have lots of references and photos and a good idea of what to expect.
Thanks,
Chris

Whatever route you chose the kid is in for a heck of hunt. Make sure you keep him off the trigger! This tag is to special to dump the first 300 inch bull you guys stumble across. As I said before; I'm more than willing than share my knowledge and my help. I don't expect money nor a fat tip at the end of it. Just love the opportunity to get up in that country and chase the elk I love, being that I will never most likely see the tag. Helping others take a bull and enjoy a hunt of lifetime is the next best thing for me as far as Im concerned!

I appreciate your offers of assitance and we will certainly be in touch with each of you!!!

I am not sure my nephew realized how lucky he is, as I am sure there have not been many 17 year olds hunt this unit in the past 20 years. Personally I can't wait and am already planning the first scouting trip for the end of the month.

I will be out of State for the next week, but plan on touching bases with each of you upon my return.

Thank you,
Stryker
